Connecting climate change with strategy

Climate change is now increasingly important as a sustainability concern and as a strategic driver for boards. Australia faces significant risks but also opportunities in the role that directors and boards and executives have in shaping the country’s commercial response to the challenges of climate change, according to Zoe Whitton, MD, Head of Impact at Pollination.

Climate change is driving transition and will deliver a lot of physical changes to the world around us, and also shape decisionmaking over the next few decades, she says. Whitton will be one of the presenters of the webinar.

Climate change is one of a broad suite of ESG issues that boards oversee. Traditionally treated as compliance or stakeholder-driven concerns, boards now need to consider ways to create commercial value in an economy transitioning to net zero and incorporate climate change into the organisation's strategic direction.
