AICD CEO to depart in 2022

Tuesday, 19 October 2021

The Board of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) has today announced that CEO and Managing Director Angus Armour FAICD will be leaving the organisation at the conclusion of his five-year term in October 2022.

Mr Armour has been CEO and Managing Director of the AICD since 2017.

AICD Chair, John Atkin FAICD, expressed his thanks to Mr Armour for his outstanding leadership of the Institute.

“The Board has been delighted with the growth and performance of the Institute under Angus’ leadership,” said Mr Atkin.

“However, Angus has decided that in 12 months it will be the right time for a change.  While obviously disappointed, the Board and I respect that decision and appreciate Angus’ commitment to work together through that period to effect an orderly transition and build on the achievements of the past four years.”

Mr Armour said the next 12 months will be a challenging period for Australia and the Institute will be deeply engaged in the community.

“I’m excited about what we can deliver for our members over the next 12 months. As Australia’s economic reconstruction begins I look forward to continuing AICD’s digital transformation, welcoming our members back at face to face events across the country and contributing to important policy debates through our governance leadership work,” said Mr Armour.

The AICD Board has established a sub-committee, chaired by John Atkin FAICD, to oversee the appointment process. The Board is in the final stages of confirming an external recruitment firm and will be conducting a competitive search process.
