Leading female directors share the ‘one thing they wish they’d known’

Tuesday, 20 October 2020

The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in partnership with CommBank’s ‘Women in Focus’ is releasing new episodes of Board Level, a podcast series featuring award-winning journalist Catherine Fox in conversation with leading female directors.

Launching each week through October and November, Board Level showcases tips, insights and stories from guest directors including Sam Mostyn, Professor Megan Davis, Dr Kirstin Ferguson FAICD, Su McCluskey MAICD, Dr Marlene Kanga AM FAICD and Anne Templeman-Jones FAICD.

Catherine delves into the pathways to becoming a director, asking about key influences, role models and lessons learned along the way. Catherine also asks each guest to share one piece of advice they wished they had known before embarking on a leadership career.

In a two-part episode released today, non-executive director Sam Mostyn discusses her pathway from an executive career and why it is so important for women to have a seat at the board room table.

Since first launching in November last year, Board Level has attracted a global audience – with thousands of downloads by listeners in 27 countries.

AICD CEO and Managing Director, Angus Armour, said, “The first instalment of Board Level has been a valued resource for aspiring directors.

“We’re delighted to work with CommBank’s Women in Focus again to continue these important conversations in 2020 and help equip and encourage the next generation of Australia’s leaders”.

In a special pre-series episode released last week, the tables are turned on Board Level host Catherine Fox when she’s joined by Rebecca Warren, General Manager, Strategy & Transformation at the Commonwealth Bank for a discussion on the vital role played by female leaders.
