The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) recently announced a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of achieving mutually beneficial objectives and setting out a framework for promotion and collaboration on educational programs.
The University and AICD share common interests in terms of both possessing strong, respected, internationally focused Australian brands, as well as interests in the delivery of business education to Directors and those who report to Boards residing or working within the MENA region.
The MoU, signed by Professor Mohamed-Val M. Salem Zein, President of UOWD and Mr Edward Palmisano, Head of International, AICD, outlines the basis for ongoing cooperation and collaboration between the two parties aimed towards furthering professional development in the region.
Commenting on the MoU Professor Salem said: “By establishing this partnership our students will have access to world-class programs to enhance their personal skills and professional performance especially on executive or director level”.
Mr Palmisano added: “As the world’s largest director’s institute, the AICD is committed to good global governance. We are proud to partner with the leading Australian university in the UAE to deliver our International Company Director Course to governance and business leaders in Dubai.”
UOWD has a strong international standing and represents a pioneering Australian initiative in the Gulf region.
