A compelling major debate on the future of corporate governance was one of the headline events at the Australian Governance Summit (AGS). Three distinguished speakers included ANZ Bank chairman David Gonski AO FAICDLife, Penny-Bingham Hall FAICD, who sits on the boards of Bluescope Steel, Dexus and Fortescue and Heather Ridout AO MAICD, chair of AustralianSuper.
David Gonski kicked off the debate by calling for boards to address three things – Long-termism, getting complexity under control and accountability.
