Congratulations, you have been offered the role of Chair for the Board/Committee.  This webinar will provide you with the fundamentals for the Chair role. Review the essential steps and procedures you need to put in place as an effective Chair. Leadership skills and board dynamics will not be covered, but the boardroom behaviour chair series will provide you with further information in this area. The host and panel will discuss the following:

  • Prior to formally accepting the role, including the initial interview and onboarding
  • In preparation for the first meeting;
    • Who to meet and when 
    • What lines of communication should be used and deciding on the most appropriate documentation
  • Put in place in the first 100 days such as board procedures, decisions and relationships
  • What to undertake annually for the Board, Directors and the CEO and planning for the unplanned

This webinar will provide insight into the requirements of these roles and is appropriate for aspiring or new chairs and may also be a timely refresher for directors currently holding the role.
