Paul O’Connor is an experienced non-executive chair and director. He currently chairs a NSW government statutory authority in the climate change portfolio and chairs a privately-held entrepreneurial business in the fashion and creative arts industry.
Paul holds several other board roles are in diverse fields including emergency medicine, education, philanthropy, and local government.
A three-times CEO, Paul was agency head of a federal business regulator and held governance roles in the Commonwealth including in the maritime industry, the disability sector and veterans’ administration.
Until recently, Paul was a Visiting Fellow at the ANU School of Regulation and Global Governance within the College of Asia and The Pacific. A major area of his research interest was improved corporate reporting and disclosure on climate change by Australian companies to support their transition to a low-carbon future.
Paul is an AICD Fellow and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, the Institute of Public Administration and The Tax Institute. He holds master’s degrees in law and corporate governance.
