Dr Mellissa Naidoo GAICD

Dr. Mellissa Naidoo is a distinguished healthcare leader with over two decades of experience in medical practice and health policy. She holds a medical degree from Flinders University and a Master of Health Management, specialising in clinical governance and medical leadership and engagement.


Dr. Naidoo has held pivotal roles, including Director of Medical Services at Greenslopes Private, St Andrew’s, and The Wesley Hospitals, as well as Chief Medical Officer at nib. In these positions, she has led initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and digital health implementation. She has a special interest in enhancing health literacy and interprofessional and patient communication.

As a Non-Executive Director, Dr. Naidoo is passionate about tackling socio-cultural determinants of health. She brings strategic insights, policy advocacy, and her expertise in governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to for purpose organisations in the health, education, community services, and arts sectors. Currently, she is the Chair of Multicultural Australia and serves on the University of Queensland Senate, the Breast Cancer Network Australia, and several healthcare boards.

Dr. Naidoo has received several prestigious awards for her leadership, including the Women in Digital Executive Leader of the Year, Elite Women in Insurance, and Healthcare Thought Leader of the Year. Committed to mentoring diverse healthcare leaders, she actively supports community initiatives that promote health and wellbeing in underserved, minority, and marginalised populations.
