David Tennant

CEO, FamilyCare

David Tennant was appointed CEO of Shepparton-based FamilyCare in May 2010. FamilyCare is the main provider of child and family services across the Goulburn Valley region in Victoria and has offices in Wallan, Seymour and Cobram, with an outreach presence in a number of smaller communities. 

David is a lawyer, who joined the community sector in 1995. He has held a variety of service delivery, policy, management and representative roles in the years since, maintaining an interest in issues related to financial hardship and the structural causes of poverty.

David is Co-Chair of both the Treating Families Fairly forum for the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare and Victoria’s Anti-Poverty Week activities. He also serves on the Board of the Consumer Action Law Centre, is a Trustee of the Jan Pentland Foundation, a member of the Law Help Assessment Panel for the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations and a member of the Victorian Government’s Social Services Regulation Task Force.
