Bill Owens GAICD

Bill Owens is an experienced Company Director, currently Chair of Relationships Australia, Queensland (RAQ), non-executive director of The Lady Musgrave Trust, a charity dedicated to providing housing for vulnerable women and girls and Managing Director at Veracity Business Solutions, an IT services company which designs, builds and supports IT platforms for competitive advantage. 

Throughout his 30 year career, Bill has gained extensive experience in governance, strategy development, risk management and financial management. He has particular expertise in data governance and technology-led business transformation, making him a sought-after advisor in these areas. Recognising the criticality of digital literacy, Bill is dedicated to raising the standards of business leaders across Australia. He shares his insights through weekly articles on his LinkedIn page, titled "Digital Literacy for Leaders," which attracts a wide audience of directors and executives.

As a member of the Tech Council of Australia (TCA), Bill sits on TCA’s AI, cybersecurity and privacy regulation sub-committees which advises government on policy reform in these areas. As a recognised thought leader, Bill frequently speaks at various business events for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Queensland Leaders and a range of business associations. His presentations primarily focus on the implications of technology on businesses, with special emphasis on general-purpose technologies like generative AI. Drawing from his position as the Managing Director of Veracity, Bill frequently addresses boards and executive teams, sharing his knowledge on data governance and accountability.
