Managing Director, Veracity

Bill Owens is an accomplished Company Director, currently holding multiple leadership positions. He serves as the Chair of Relationships Australia, Queensland (RAQ), where he oversees the organisation's strategic direction. Additionally, he is a director of The Lady Musgrave Trust, a charity dedicated to providing housing for vulnerable women and girls. He is also the Managing Director at Veracity Business Solutions, an IT services consultancy. 


Throughout his career, Bill has gained extensive experience as a director in governance, strategy development, risk management, and financial management. His expertise also lies in data governance and technology-led business transformation, making him a sought-after advisor in these areas. Recognising the importance of digital literacy, Bill is dedicated to raising the standards of business leaders across Australia. He shares his insights through weekly articles on his LinkedIn page, titled "Digital Literacy for Leaders," which attracts a wide audience of directors and executives. 

An advocate for technological innovation, Bill recently led a research and development program in partnership with the University of Queensland's School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. The project aimed to develop a blockchain-enabled ticketing platform prototype to combat online ticketing fraud. The research report resulting from this 12-month initiative has been submitted as a chapter in an upcoming book called "Blockchain and Smart-Contract Technologies for Innovative Applications." 

As a recognised thought leader, Bill frequently speaks at various business events including Queensland Leaders, AICD Director events and Stage Queensland. His presentations primarily focus on the implications of technology on businesses, with special emphasis on general-purpose technologies like generative AI. Drawing from his position as the Managing Director of Veracity, Bill frequently addresses boards and executive teams, sharing his knowledge on data governance and accountability.
