Sharon has over 25 years experience as a non executive director of APRA regulated organisations, and is currently the incoming Chair of Hunter Health Insurance, and a director of The Mutual Bank. Until recently, Sharon was Chair of the Risk Committee for The Mutual bank and is currently Chair of the People and Culture Committees at both The Mutual Bank and Hunter Health Insurance, and is a member of Lake Macquarie City Council’s Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.
Sharon also leads a consultancy which specialises in advising Boards and CEOs on challenging HR issues, restructures, mergers and acquisitions and workplace investigations.
An executive background in manufacturing, energy generation and mining services industries in both operational and functional roles has given Sharon an unusual breadth of experience and learnings to support her Board career. Sharon has held some challenging corporate roles, from the first woman in the world to manage a lead and zinc smelter to the director of cloud seeding for Snowy Hydro to Acting CEO Macquarie Generation power stations to the project lead for a financial turnaround of an ASX listed mining services company.
She is a Graduate of AICD and holds a Bachelor of Science from Newcastle University, and Post Grad Dip in Management.
