Elizabeth Jameson is an experienced board chair and non-executive director of over 30 years standing and a respected Australian governance consultant with a strong corporate/commercial legal background.
Elizabeth’s current chair roles are with:
- Leading Australian intellectual disability charity, Endeavour Foundation; and
- Queensland’s State theatre company, Queensland Theatre.
Until November 2022, Elizabeth was also Chair and President of RACQ, a $1.5B member mutual group incorporating automobile club, roadside assistance, insurance and banking services. Her past directorships and chair roles have included the boards of over 20 organisations, in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors in industries as diverse as education, arts, electricity, professional services and manufacturing, amongst others.
In her background career, after almost 15 years as a corporate/commercial lawyer and partner of a national law firm, Elizabeth founded respected national governance consultancy, Board Matters and associated legal practice, Board Matters Legal. She also spent over 17 years as a facilitator for the Australian Institute of Company Directors in its national and international programs.
In her spare time, Elizabeth toils away at a PhD in corporate governance, in which she is investigating the extent to which shareholder primacy is under fire in the modern world, and if so the implications for directors in practice today.
