Derek lives in Yeppoon and is the Chair of Capricorn Tourism and Economic Development Limited (trading as Capricorn Enterprise) and a Director of Valley Harvest Group Limited.
Derek’s experience includes 6 years as the Deputy Chair of Growcom, 6 years as a member of the Queensland Small Business Advisory Council, 8 years as the CEO and MD of Tropical Pines Pty Ltd, 5 years as the CFO, CEO and MD of the Rock Building Society Limited, 8 years in various executive roles at Bank of Queensland Limited and 10 years with KPMG in Brisbane and London.
Derek is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.
