Anissa commenced as the QBCC’s first female CEO and Commissioner in February 2022.
Anissa is an accomplished leader and senior executive with almost 30 years’ public and private sector experience across a range of roles, including at Deputy Secretary/CEO level and as Board chairperson.
A civil engineer by profession, Anissa has a passion for creating better and more sustainable services and infrastructure for the community. Anissa has a distinguished track record of driving transformational change across organisations and teams with experience in the infrastructure, transport, sustainability, environment, waste, energy, and water sectors.
In her previous role as the CEO of Water Infrastructure NSW, Anissa was responsible for establishing the organisation and building the capacity and capability of the water sector to plan and deliver large and complex infrastructure programs across NSW.
Anissa is passionate about delivering outcomes to communities that enhance social, economic, environmental, and cultural values; and engaging appropriately and respectfully with our First Nations communities and peoples to ensure we learn from and incorporate their wisdom into the work we do.
