Dr Lu is a non-executive director of SBS Corporation, Melbourne International Film Festival, Australian Youth Orchestra, and the National Gallery of Australia Foundation. He is President of the Mental Health Tribunal of Western Australia.
Dr Lu has 25 years of legal, commercial and public sector experience across decision-making, vocational regulation, health and aged care, and higher education.
He has served as chair, deputy chair and a non-executive director of various nonprofits, and on the State Administrative Tribunal and Reproductive Technology Council, concurrent with full-time practice as a solicitor and insurance law partner of national and international legal firms. He was noted annually in Best Lawyers and Doyle’s Guide as one of Australia’s leading Health and Aged Care solicitors. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law and ANZIIF, and was named one the 122 most influential Asian-Australians of 2022 by the Asian Australian Alliance. He chairs the Curtin Law School Advisory Board and is an Adjunct Professor of Curtin University. Dr Lu was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2021 for his service to the arts, to the law, and to legal education.
