Michelle Dowdell is Head of the Digital Technology Taskforce at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. The Taskforce leads the Digital Economy Strategy, which sets out how Australia will be a leading digital economy and society by 2030.
Michelle was previously Lead of Treasury’s Coronavirus Coordination Team, which coordinated the development and implementation of the Government’s Coronavirus Economic Response measures. Michelle was also Treasury’s Head of Melbourne Office and a Principal Adviser in Retirement Income Policy Division, where she led Treasury’s engagement with a wide range of stakeholders and provided advice on all aspects of retirement income policy, including age pension policy and the tax and regulatory aspects of superannuation policy.
Since starting in Treasury as a Graduate, Michelle has worked in a number of policy areas within Commonwealth Treasury and Department of Finance. Michelle has also been an adviser to three Treasury Ministers and was seconded to NZ Treasury advising on regulatory reform.
