Dr Gayan Benedict GAICD

Member of the Standards Australia Committee on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies

Dr Gayan Benedict GAICD is an industry research fellow at UTS, a member of the Standards Australia Committee on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies, and CTO of Salesforce Australia and New Zealand.

From 2018 to 2021 Gayan was the CIO of the Reserve Bank of Australia where his responsibilities encompassed technology innovation, delivery, operations and board reporting on technology and cyber security. Prior to being the RBA's CIO, Gayan held senior technology leadership positions at the RBA, Westpac and Oracle Corporation. Gayan's doctoral research examined financial system regulation of blockchain applications and his post-doctoral research examines the governance of artificially intelligent decentralized autonomous organisations (DAOs).
