Colin Carter AM FAICD

Senior Advisor, The Boston Consulting Group

Colin's career was with The Boston Consulting Group advising on strategy, organisation and governance issues.  He is now a Senior Advisor to BCG, supporting BCG case teams around the world on governance issues. 


He has carried out performance reviews for the boards of many companies and non-profit organisations. As well, he co-authored with Jay Lorsch a top-selling book on boards of directors, ‘Back to the Drawing Board’, published by  Harvard Business School Press.

Colin has been a director of four leading Australian public companies and also involved as a director and adviser to many not-for-profit and sporting enterprises. This included time as an AFL Commissioner and also as President of the Geelong Football Club. He was a founding director and then chairman of Jawun which engages companies with Indigenous organisations. He is currently involved in initiatives to support the Rumbalara Football and Netball Club in Shepparton. In 2010 and 2014 he was appointed by the then Australian Prime Minister to roles engaged with Indigenous leaders and communities.

Colin has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Melbourne University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
