Featuring the launch of AICD’s new resource – AI use by directors and boards: Early insights 

As organisations explore AI across their operations, boards are increasingly being expected to consider not just how AI is used in the business, but how they might use it themselves in governance. 

This national virtual event will examine how AI is shaping governance – from director and board practice to organisational deployment to the wider regulatory and policy landscape.  

Drawing on recent developments, case examples and the AICD’s new resource, the session will consider how directors and boards are engaging with AI, the potential benefits, and the associated legal, ethical and governance risks. 

We will:

• Explore early insights on director and board use of AI, including meeting preparation, information flows, strategy and board evaluation. 
• Identify practical questions and safeguards to guide safe, purposeful AI use by boards and individual directors. 
• Situate AI within the broader governance environment, including key policy and regulatory developments relevant to boards. 

Our consideration of AI use by directors forms part of AICD’s ongoing work on AI, data and digital technologies, and is designed to support constructive, well-informed conversations in the boardroom, rather than to promote specific tools or solutions.
