More women at the helm: Top ASX companies inching closer to 40%

    The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) is proud to unveil the latest Gender Diversity Snapshot, offering a fresh and in-depth look at the representation of women on ASX-listed boards.


    This quarters analysis shows continued progress - and key milestones reached - on the path to improved gender representation across ASX-listed company boards.

    As at 30 June 2025:

    • 45 women serve as Chairs across ASX 300 boards - up from 42 in 2024.
    • 25 women hold Chair roles on ASX 200 boards

    Representation on the Rise

    • ASX 20: 42.0% female directorships
    • ASX 50: 41.0% female directorships
    • ASX 100: 39.3% female directorships
    • ASX 200: 38.1% female directorships
    • ASX 300: 37.5% female directorships

    These figures reflect consistent year-on-year improvement, with women now holding more than a third of directorships across the ASX 300.

    Female representation on boards are not just a marker of equity - they are a driver of performance, innovation and good governance. The AICD remains committed to improving transparency, publishing data, and working with leaders to ensure momentum continues.
