John Van Der Wielen FAICD

John is Chair of Gold Corporation (The Perth Mint), Orthocell (ASX:OCC) and the Wyllie Group, and serves as Senior Adviser to Appian Capital Advisory and Bridgewest.

He is a highly accomplished senior executive with more than 30 years’ experience across financial services, health, insurance, wealth management and investments.

John is the former CEO of HBF Health and also held senior leadership and governance roles within the Crown Group, including as Chair of Crown Perth and Director of Crown Resorts, during a period of substantial regulatory and operational change. He previously served as the inaugural Chair of Western Australia’s Future Health Research & Innovation (FHRI) Fund Advisory Council (2020–2024), playing a key role in establishing the fund’s governance framework and strategic direction.

John holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia, has undertaken executive studies at London Business School and Oxford University, and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
