Friday, 06 September 2019

The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) has announced changes to its National Board.

After six years Gene Tilbrook FAICD has completed his term on the board. In addition, Dr Sally Pitkin FAICD has stepped down as the QLD Division Director.

Derek La Ferla FAICD and Anne Cross AM FAICD have been appointed to the board replacing Mr Tilbrook and Ms Pitkin respectively.

AICD chair, John Atkin FAICD congratulated Mr La Ferla and Ms Cross on their appointments.

“Mr La Ferla has a deep understanding of the challenges confronting directors and his broad business and legal experience will be an asset to our board. He also brings experience in the primary sector, particularly mining and resources.

“Ms Cross brings an extensive knowledge of the for-purpose sector, particularly in the key sectors of health, aged care and education and has experience working with government and start-ups which will add invaluable experience to our board."

Following Mr Tilbrook’s departure current national director Tracey Horton AO FAICD has been appointed as the AICD’s new deputy chair.

“Ms Horton has already proven to be an asset to our board and her background in education, coupled with her experience as a director and chair of leading listed companies as well as educational and industry bodies, adds significantly to our board’s breadth and diversity of experience”, said Mr Atkin.

“I also want to acknowledge both Gene Tilbrook and Sally Pitkin for their substantial contribution to the AICD board over a number of years and look forward to their continued support of the Institute in the future,” he said.
