The 2017 Gold Coast Regional Scholarship is open to those who can demonstrate that the program will benefit not just themselves and their organisation, but the wider community as well.
AICD Queensland State Manager Melanie Mayne-Wilson says the scholarship program aimed to support local directors on the Gold Coast.
“Our regional scholarship program recognises the importance of supporting directors outside the capital cities, and in turn, helping organisations of all types and size meet their potential,” she said. “It is open to directors or senior professionals from all walks of life, and from across the private, listed, not-for-profit and public sectors.
“We want to ensure that the Gold Coast has directors of the highest calibre with the very best in education. This scholarship program is one way we can help achieve that goal.”
2015 Gold Coast Regional Scholarship recipient David Morgan from Sunland Group, said that undertaking the course was an amazing experience and encouraged people who were interested in improving their skills to apply.
“In my opinion, this is the new MBA for company directors,” he said. “Having completed an MBA, I can honestly say that this course is comprehensive, relevant and engaging and is a 'must do' for any current sitting board member or senior executive.
“Whether you are from a public listed, small to medium enterprise or not-for-profit, the Directors Course will give you invaluable insight into board practices and dynamics.”
The 2017 scholarship winner will undertake the Company Directors Course at the Gold Coast on Wednesday 15 to Tuesday 21 March 2017 (excluding the weekend). To apply for the 2017 scholarship and for eligibility requirements, please contact the Qld Division on 07 3222 5500.
