Purpose-led governance starts here

The NFP Scholarship provides governance education to new and aspiring NFP directors who want to advance their directorship and govern with confidence. We’re pleased to offer up to 240 places nationwide.

Each scholarship covers 100% of the cost of the AICD’s facilitator-led course, Governance for Not-for-Profit Directors valued at $1,400. You will also receive a 1-year AICD membership valued at $970. Travel and accommodation costs are not included. 

Governance Foundations for Not-for-Profit Directors is delivered as a one-and-a-half day program.

You’ll learn the fundamental compliance and performance-related roles and responsibilities of not-for-profit leaders, specifically in the areas of governance, risk, financial performance and strategy.

Best suited to:

  • first-time and aspiring directors of NFP companies or community organisations
  • directors seeking to transition to NFP directorship
  • executives who report directly to an NFP board.

Usual course cost: $1,350 (AICD members), $1,800 (non-members)

Check your eligibility

Applications are open to both AICD members and non-members who are:

  • current or aspiring directors or leaders of small to medium not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of less than $3Million. (See the ACNC's Charity Register or the Australian Business Register if you’re unsure.)
  • 18 years old or over.
  • Australian Citizens or permanent residents.
  • not disqualified from serving as a director of any corporation or organisation.
  • not graduates of the AICD’s Foundations of Directorship, Company Directors Course or Boardroom Mastery. (Graduates of these courses are considered over-qualified for this program.)
