How we deliver impact
In recent years, the AICD has contributed to important governance and policy reforms in areas including director identification, cyber security, climate reporting obligations, the role of boards in aged care, and requirements applying to banks, insurers and superannuation entities.
We engage with governments, regulators and standard setters through submissions, consultation and direct engagement to support better regulatory design aligned with contemporary practice.
Practical guidance and governance principles
We support boards on emerging governance priorities through practical guidance, governance principles and legal analysis across issues including cyber security, organisational culture, climate governance, NFP governance and emerging technologies such as AI.
Policy submissions
The AICD helps ensure the director perspective is heard where it matters most by developing policy submissions to governments, regulators, and standard‑setting bodies in response to proposed laws, regulatory reforms, and public consultations. Explore our advocacy priorities and submissions.
National and global initiatives
We contribute to national and global governance initiatives through partnerships, research collaborations and director networks. This includes hosting Climate Governance Initiative Australia and collaborating with regulators, industry bodies, professional associations, universities and subject matter experts to advance governance standards and coordinated responses to complex challenges.
