Vivienne Yu is an experienced Chair, Non-Executive Director and former CEO with deep expertise across banking, financial services, technology and cross-border business engagement between Australia and Asia, particularly with China.


She currently serves on the boards of Heartland Bank Australia, AIMS APAC REIT and Bridge Housing, and is Vice President of the Australia China Business Council NSW.

Vivienne spent 18 years with Commonwealth Bank in senior executive leadership roles, including four years as CEO of its China business. She also served for three years as Chair of County Bank, a subsidiary of Commonwealth Bank in China. During her time at CBA, she led banking, payments and financial services businesses across Asia, managed complex regulatory and government relationships, and developed crossborder growth strategies in highly dynamic markets.

With extensive experience engaging China as both a CEO and Non-Executive Chair, Vivienne brings practical insights into board governance, risk oversight, market entry, regulatory engagement and international growth strategy. Her experience spans Australia, China and broader Asia, with particular expertise in helping boards navigate regulatory, geopolitical and operational risk, as well as digital transformation, financial services regulation and cross-border partnerships.

Vivienne is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an Accredited Director of the Singapore Institute of Directors, a Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of Chief Executive Women.
