Moira Were AM has been Mayor of Onkaparinga since November 2022, with extensive experience across community, public, and private sectors.

A trained social worker with a masters in economics and ethics, Moira was awarded the Order of Australia in 2019 for her social welfare contributions. She founded Chooks SA and co-founded Collab4Good. With over 30 years in Onkaparinga, her leadership roles include CEO of Volunteering SA&NT and board positions with LGA SA, ICLEI, SA's Medical Board and Fire & Emergency Services.
