Michael Ullmer AO FAICD

Chair, Lendlease

Michael Ullmer is the current Chairman of Lendlease Corporation, retiring at the November AGM and a director of the Westpac Group Board. He stepped down from the board of Woolworths Limited in October 2021. He was previously a director of Fosters Limited.


In his executive career, Michael was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and a board member of National Australia Bank, having previously been Finance Director. Before that he held senior executive roles at Commonwealth Bank. Michael started his career in professional services, and was a partner in KPMG and then Coopers & Lybrand.

Michael has a strong commitment to the Arts, having been Chairman of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and a Trustee of the National Gallery of Victoria, and continues to be involved with both organisations. He has also been heavily involved in the Education sector, with roles including Deputy Chairman of Kambala Girls School in Sydney, Treasurer of Lauriston Girls School in Melbourne, Chairman of Schools Connect, and chairing the Business-School Connections Roundtable for the Federal Government. He is a member of the European Australian Business Council.

Michael has a degree in Mathematics, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
