Appointed Chair in May 2020, Peter Remfrey has served on the Board of the Police Bank since 2016, including terms as Deputy Chair and Acting Chair.
Peter has 38 years’ practical experience in industrial relations as a negotiator and advocate and was the Secretary of the Police Association of NSW for 20 years.
He was awarded Life Membership of the Association in 2016. Peter is a nationally accredited Mediator, has an Economics Degree (USyd), is a graduate of the Harvard Trade Union Program and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He runs a consulting practice and, in 2023 was an advisor to the NSW Premier focused on the reforms to the state’s industrial relations system.
Peter was a Member Nominal Insurer (icare) Advisory Committee in 2023 and was a member of the Workers Compensation and Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Council from 2006 to 2012.
