CEO – State Sport Centres (Victoria) Deputy Chancellor – Victoria University

A highly experienced Executive and Non-Executive Director Kate is currently the CEO of the Victorian State Sports Centres Trust and Deputy Chancellor of Victoria University. 


Kate is the former President of the Melbourne Football Club, leading the club to their first AFL Men’s Premiership in 57 years in 2021 and the Women’s team to their first Premiership win in 2022. Kate is also a former Chair of the Metro Trains Advisory Board, Chair of the Victorian Regional Shipping Channels Authority, and Member of the Ministerial Planning and Building Process Review Board and Ministerial Freight Advisory Committee.

Kate has extensive experience as a CEO and Senior Executive within the commercial, government and not-for-profit sectors and has been involved in the planning and delivery of a number of major city-shaping projects.

As the CEO of the Victorian State Sports Centres, Kate oversees the operation of four of Australia’s largest multi-sport venues. As the former Director of Investments & Major Projects for Wyndham City, Kate was part of the team that secured a new A-League licence for Western Melbourne and led the concept planning for the development of Australia’s first privately built sports stadium using a value-capture model. As the former Executive Manager at Tennis Australia, Kate also led the master planning and commercial negotiations for the $1 billion dollar redevelopment of Melbourne Park – the home of the Australian Open Tennis Championship.

In 2022, Kate was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the King’s Birthday Honours and was also inducted into the University of Canberra Sport Hall of Fame.
