John Rawnsley GAICD

Chair, Northern Territory PHN

John Rawnsley was born and raised in Darwin including part of his
youth raised at Uluru and Kakadu National Park, and in his adulthood living in Alice Springs and Darwin.  


He is the Chair of the NT Primary Health Network since 2021, and has been a director since 2015.  The NT PHN constitution requires directors to serve no more than 3 terms of 3 years, and so his term will conclude at the AGM later this year. 

His current director and board experience includes a director of Larrakia Development Corporation, co-Chair of the Advisory Board of the Poche Centre with Flinders University, and Chair of the Smith Family’s National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group.

His former board and director experience includes the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority, the NT General Practice Education, and he helped establish Winkiku Rrumbangi NT Indigenous Lawyers as a group to support Aboriginal lawyers and law students.  At 28 years of age John was the first Aboriginal Deputy Mayor of Alice Springs.  He served on the Alice Springs Town Council from 2008 – 2012.  

John is a Senior Adviser for the Honourable Selena Uibo MLA.
