Michael Willis

Board Chair, West Moreton Health

Michael Willis is an Australian board chair and company director, with over 30 years' experience in corporate governance.

He is currently the Board Chair of West Moreton Health; with 5000 staff and a budget of $817 million, WMH is the lead provider of healthcare services to Ipswich and West Moreton, Qld's fifth largest and fastest-growing region.

He chairs the Council of The Springfield Anglican College and serves on a range of boards and committees in financial services, health, education, local government, and professional sport. He has consulted in corporate governance, strategy and risk management, working with hundreds of boards and governing bodies to lift their performance across these areas. His earlier career was largely in the financial services sector.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Life Member of FINSIA, the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. As President of FINSIA, he led their participation in the development of Australia's corporate governance benchmarks, the "ASX Corporate Governance Principles”.
