Dr Naoise McDonagh MAICD

Naoise McDonagh (PhD, MAICD) is MBA Director and Senior Lecturer in Geopolitics and International Business at the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University. He is the current managing editor of the academic journal Law & Geoeconomics and a former President of the Australian Institute of International Affairs, South Australia.


Dr McDonagh holds a PhD from the University of Auckland and an MA and BA from the University of Galway, Ireland. His research addresses how geopolitical tensions are transforming the world economy, including national security-driven supply chain transformation, new tariff regimes, as well as new export control and investment screening regimes. Dr McDonagh regularly publishes in international academic journals and leading policy think tanks on these topics. He is also a regular contributor to domestic and international media coverage of trade and geopolitics. With almost 50 publications across scholarly, policy and media outlets, Dr McDonagh is recognised as a leading global analyst addressing the complex relationship between international relations, geopolitics and international trade from a business and government perspective.
