Chris commenced as Executive Director of AISWA at the beginning of September 2022, coming from The University of Western Australia where he was the Director of Student Life. In this role, he was responsible for various portfolios, including student accommodation, sport, academic support, equity outreach, health services, and student administration.
Chris’ tertiary qualifications include an MBA, a Bachelor of Physical Education, and a Master of Education. He is also a Graduate of the AICD, a WA Leadership Fellow, and holds a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Chris has held a number of board positions, including with UniSport Australia, West Coast Fever Netball Club, and was on the Board of Governors at Hale School until his appointment at AISWA.
Chris’ earlier career was as a secondary school teacher, commencing at Eastern Goldfields High School in Kalgoorlie. After 10 years of teaching, Chris worked in other educational roles, first with Sports Challenge Australia and then with the Cancer Council of WA.
He then moved to the health sector, where he was State Branch Manager and Business Development Executive at the Health Insurance Commission of Australia, now Medicare Australia.
