Martyn is an experienced Work Health & Safety consultant and senior executive, working globally.
Formerly, Martyn was the Head of SafeWork SA and WHS Regulator for South Australia.
During his 6 years as the WHS Regulator, he was;
- Board Member for Safe Work Australia, representing South Australia
- Chair of the Heads of Workplace Safety Authorities for Australia and New Zealand which is the collective community of all Heads of WHS Regulators
- A Core Member of the federal government Sex Discrimination Commissioner’s Respect@Work Council
- Secretary-General of the International Association of Labour Inspection, the global professional body and labour and safety regulators with over 100 member countries.
He now sits as the inaugural Chair of the National Psychosocial Safety Network, an Independent Board Member to SA Power Networks WHS Committee, a Board Member for the South Australian Education Standards Board, Regulator of early childhood education in SA and as one of three global Technical Advisors to the International Association of Labour Inspection.
He has over 30 years’ experience working in investigation, regulatory compliance and work health and safety at senior and executive level roles in the UK and Australia. A strong advocate of psychosocially safe workplaces and Human & Organisational Performance, he works with organisations to ensure legal compliance to health & safety duties.
Martyn has an Honours Degree in Law, a Masters in Law, a Masters in Occupational Health & Safety and is a Fellow and Chartered OHS Professional of the Australian Institute of Health & Safety.
