Dr Jonathan Baker is a Senior Lecturer in Strategy in the School of Management at Adelaide University and Director of the MBA programme.
He currently serves as Co-Chair of the international MASHIN (Market Shaping & Innovation) Special Interest Group. Previously, he served as Director of the Yunus Centre for Business, Sustainability & Social Impact at the Adelaide Business School.
In 2023, he received the Excellence Early Career Researcher Award from the Australian-New Zealand Academy of Management, and the Emerging Career Researcher Award from the Adelaide Business School. Prior to coming to Adelaide in 2022, Jonathan worked at both Auckland University of Technology and University of Auckland in New Zealand, and as a Guest Professor at the University of Bayreuth in Germany.
Jonathan is primarily a qualitative researcher, and his research is interdisciplinary at the intersection of markets, strategy, and social impact. His main research focus is exploring how market systems are deliberately shaped or innovated by different actors, including industry associations, social movements, firms and regulators.
