Duncan Anderson GAICD

State President, RSLWA

Duncan is a senior executive with more than twenty years of leadership and management experience including a first career with the Australian Army.


Duncan successfully transitioned from the regular Army to the Senior Executive Service in the Western Australian Public Sector. His first appointment was as the Managing Director of the South West Institute of Technology, subsequently South Regional TAFE. Duncan continues to serve in the Army reserve having been recently selected for further education at Canadian Forces College.

Duncan is a director with experience as a Board Chair. Currently elected as State President of RSL(WA) and is also a Director on the Returned and Services League of Australia Board.

Experience as a senior executive, board director and within Army has exposed Duncan to a wide variety of organisational challenges. These have ranged from experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan, to situations with strategic political implications and whole of organisational consequences.

Duncan has is a graduate of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course and the Governance Institute Effective Directors Program. Having also completed the Australian and New Zealand School of Government Executive Fellows Program, Duncan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Geography/Information Systems), with an Advanced Diploma in Government and a Diploma in Administration.
