David Epstein FAICD is Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister of Australia, has been a non-executive director of companies, NFPs and regulatory bodies for over 30 years.
Educated at The ANU and Wharton (UPenn), David was, until recently, Executive Director of the Chifley Research Centre, and a non-executive director of Southern Rural Water, Communications Compliance Ltd, Mountain Festival Ltd, The Asia Society-Australia and the European Australian Business Council.
He has also served as a Governing Member of .au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA), Australia’s internet domain administrator, serving on its Board Nominations Committee, and was an Adjunct Professor and course presenter at Deakin Business School, Deakin University, among other institutions.
Formerly Chair of Open Gardens Victoria and a director of Opera Australia, he maintains keen interests in arts and cultural organisations, cycling, books, the outdoors, and photography.
He received the NSW Premier’s Bushfire Emergency Citation, the NSWRFS Commissioner's Certificate for Service and the National Emergency Medal in recognition of service as a volunteer officer in the NSW Rural Fire Service during the 2019-2020 ‘Black Summer’ fires.
