Darya Boukata is a researcher and practitioner working at the intersection of nature, governance and business strategy.
She brings a background in management consulting, including experience at McKinsey & Company and Social Ventures Australia, where she supported organisations across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors on complex strategic, social and sustainability challenges, and has also run a horse rescue operation in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney Business School, where her research examines how corporate boards recognise and govern nature-related risks and dependencies, and how these considerations are embedded into strategy, risk oversight and long-term value creation.
She is a research co-lead on Nature Enters the Boardroom, a landmark collaboration with AICD generating empirical insights into nature-related governance practice.
